Not a politics guy. Never cared much for it, probably never will. So needless to say our worlds seldom intersect.
To me politics is a lot like my car, I should probably take the time to understand how it works but I lack the motivation, typical millenial huh! So if/when something goes wrong I end up turning to someone who can explain to me what’s happening, you know a lot like a mechanic.
However, Twitter stopped me dead in my tracks yesterday with the nugget below.
Absolutely no clue who this Andrew Yang fella is and having done no research whatsoever on his background I’ll go on a whim and say, this guy gets it.
Crudely paraphrasing a historical Wayne Gretzky quote that somehow ties in our political landscape will get a ‘like’ out of me every day that ends in Y. Whether you’re a democrat or republican and trust me I really don’t care at all what you consider yourself to be, Andrew will forever in my eyes be a #HockeyGuy.
Presidents past and present have never strayed away from showcasing their inner fanboy. So I say it’s about time Andrew came out of the woodwork to remind the world hockey is America’s game.
To be honest this may be the most confusing tweet I’ve come across in ages. One of those slow burners that require three to four good re-reads. It seems to me that Andrew is equating the future of America to snapping a crisp tape to tape d-zone stretch pass, just your classic “throw the puck into space and I’ll find it”.
Offensive instincts you just can’t teach folks.
